Default the scary thing is that (allegedly) they're going to fix some of them and sell as new...

...so don't buy a dark blue one!

Default Maybe they'll try not telling anyone again

and getting tagged with punitive damages again. They got all the way to the Supreme Court on that the first time around, why not try it again?

Default There were approximately...

470 vehicles on board, 120 were damaged beyond repair and will have to be scrapped while the others will be repaired.

Apparently, this may affect the dealers' launches scheduled for February, as well as their initial supply as the M3 & 1-series are due on sale in the US in March.

Default When the cost of repairs exceeds a certain amount, they are legally bound to disclose

the incident. I think that number is around $6500.

Default depends on the state....IA only has damage disclosure if the damage is >50% of the value

<ul><li><a href="http://www.dot.state.ia.us/mvd/ovs/selling.htm#Damage%20Disclosure%20Statement">http://www.dot.state.ia.us/mvd/ovs/selling.htm#Damage%20Disclosure%20Statement</a</li></ul>

Default Just wondering, how would you find out if a car had been damaged in transit

and then repaired, and then sold "as new"?

Default trust your eyes

look for signs of body/paint work(paint match - color and texture, paint overspray on trim, new paint where it doesn't belong - door jams, under hood, etc). although this is harder to determine with a good paint job, the signs are always there.
