additive effects such as when one mod is necessary to the other mod for gains to be realized but those are rare instances.

Before and after measurements showed no temperatures decrease between the head and intake manifold.
IMHO it is a waste of money and because they are about 1/4 inch thick you run into problems with the installation (at least on the 1.8T) and it artificially increase by that 1/4 inch the intake manifold's length perhaps affecting torque and HP ratings.

a bunch of guys use phenolic spacers on the Mk 1 TT. perhaps the reason you didn't notice a difference is that the 1.8T in the B7 A4 isn't really known for having heat issues, is it?

if you look at Steve's testing it is not perfect at all though. Jet and I both saw very little differences. Some TT guys bought them bc of one post made. Otherwise you just dont see hardly anyone running them. If you look at folks who are serious such as in any of the drag databases you are likely to not find a single one running them in any of the databases. As I look through there I cant find one. I'd love to see them work for some one though. Heck, some one give them a shot and do real before and after testing.
