Default Maybe that's b/c you have been buying from them for 3 years?....

I would think that most people buy one product from them and that's it.

I wouldn't have said anything if it was just my experience, but others in my area have told me the same thing.

Default This is the exact same post in a thread below, seems more relevant to post here...

I believe we have discussed this previously, likely more than once and our systems do not need to be rebuilt, refreshed or otherwise removed for service every 15k miles. Ohlins has recommended road service guidelines in their Basic Information PDF (20k to 30k KM) which is not specific to any damper, this is not specific to any one unit, it is a generalization and does not take into account anything specific about the dampers that we use. Through our testing and experience the units that we use on street and even heavily track driven vehicles can easily maintain a proper oil composure for well over 15k miles, the oil is clean and free of contamination, internal parts are all well within their working parameters, the nitrogen charge stays at our specification for 4 years and longer.

As with any suspension component of a vehicle I would suggest keeping the damper clean of contaminants that can be corrosive, ie salt/grime/oil, when use in harsher environments, inspect several times a year, generally with oil changes.

I have an A6 C5 in the shop in front of me with over 3 years use on our Motor Sport system, the car has 150k miles on it (OVER 75k miles with Ohlins). While pulling his motor for turbos and a gearbox rebuild we updated his valving. Our tech checked nitrogen pressures on each damper, perfect. Not one leaking seal, not one internal part out of working order, oil was nearly as fresh as the day it went it. We reused nearly ever part of the damper, including seals in excellent condition, for his revalving. We have long term results in-house and with customers that prove reliability and longevity for our specific dampers and street use. Aside from the longevity of use there is an added bonus to the Ohlins dampers, they are fully rebuildable. We can rebuild, refresh and alter any of our dampers in house, put them on our shock dyno and produce a plot for each damper we build to ensure quality control.

Our SPA shock dyno in it's current location (spring tester upper right):

In action at our old location:

Aside from the above I really don't know how to alleviate any skeptism and criticism from the same group of individuals on this forum. Essentially I always finish posts with a disclaimer about modifying now. If you do not feel that you need to upgrade from the DRC then our Motor Sport system is not for you, possibly in the future your mind will change. Modifying is not for everyone, however I will continue to talk about our product and answer any questions regarding it to the best of my ability. We do really attempt to run the best outfit providing the best product in this market by using the proper staff, proper equipment and proper location:

Hopefully folks will begin to find that marketing posts actually hold creedence, it's not just lip service.

Cheers,

Default Curious, what was your experience and what other experiences have you heard of that are negative?

Without knowing the problem or hearing the gripe about service how can we remedy the situation or better understand any service issues? I have yet to see a large number of posts regarding negative experiences with service assistance here at STaSIS. Reputation is built on solid product and solid service in this marketplace, especially when it comes to Audiworld using purchasers. If we had a track record of customer relations and service issues this would be painfully apparent to the forum using community.

I have spent plenty of time on the phone with customers using this exact product discussing topics ranging from spring rate to damper setup, not customer service issues yet just customer questions. It's the double edged sword, people fear a relatively smaller company because they aren't the corporate entity that tests product in one of their accelerated environment controlled testing cells for 4 months, however a larger company such as Audi takes no time to sit down and have knowledgable customer service representatives telling you about design, implementation and process to producing suspension components on your Audi as a relatively smaller company such as ours would.

If anyone ever has a customer service issue with our product they can call my direct line toll free, 888.9STASIS (888.9782747) ext 123 and between 8:30AM to 5:30PM (usually later) during weekdays. You can press one for sales and support, you can speak directly to my technician who has carnal knowledge of our product if warranted. We do not take customer support lightly and if there is any issue with the service we provide we need to know about it fully to resolve the situation.

Cheers,

Recent example, second hand purchased suspension receiving same day service

Default yada yada yada...you could alleviate skepticism and criticism by answering the questions.

...and dialing back the marketing bullsh1t just a tad.

he specifically asked what you would GUARANTEE the maintenance interval would be, and what is stated in the warranty. you answered neither of those questions.

Default I've had mine for 75k miles- one of the first set of ohlins on the C5 A6.

And to be honest with you I did zero of the recommended maintanence. So this is after about 10 track events and 100 miles a day of commute,, over 3.5-4years.

The only problem I had was one of the hoses going to the reservoir had a small split at about 50k, but that's becuase the kink was installed very tight (think of '<' vs. a 'C' routing). More of sub-optimal install (which at that time was behind the wheel liners vs. the engine bay, which is where they are now. The guys at stasis fixed and refilled it under warranty.

The car is up at Stasis right now- Jason/Ford took them out to check them out and see how they were holding up. If anything was wrong with them, I would assume the repairs would fall under warranty. From what I can tell, all they did to them was clean them up and put them back on.

Let me know if you have any questions.... or if you want a ride-along.
