Anyone want to discuss maintenance issues with the Stasis Ohlin kit?

on wear parts. I burn through full sets of brake pads and rotors every 20K miles (not an exaggeration). I know they last 80K miles in other cars. I've also gone through a Bilstein damper that is a "lifetime" damper. But warranty is another story. They will warranty anything you need so it's really a moot point, especially considering I havent seen people actually need the warranty yet in any large numbers. This is a better warranty than you will get on your OEM parts on the car.

and if any component fails during the life of the damper from defect we replace it at no cost. If a damper were to lose it's nitrogen charge for whatever reason, have a leaking seal or other defect it's all replaced no cost. We offer the same lifetime warranty to the original purchaser for ALL of our suspension product.
Damper does not need rebuilding or oil replacement every 15k miles, as obviously evidenced by a car in front of me which I attempted to use as an example to explain away this myth about our Ohlins based systems needing constant and consistent service. In situations where the damper needs to remain at an exact and consistent level for competition use would I recommend a usage guideline for changing oil, service and rebuilding that would be in hours of use, not mileage. Not needed for street use.
If within 20k, 50k, 100k miles a customer or their mechanic ever feels that there is an issue with any damper we sell we happily RMA, receive, inspect and give a diagnosis with options to handle each individual situation.
Cheers,

isn't it always the case? what's normal wear, what's defect? if the mfgr(Ohlin) is specifying 20k kilometers(approx 15k miles), what's all this reason for attempting to get away from that by citing isolated and unverifiable examples of sets lasting 50k, 75k, 80k w/o need for servicing?
i'm with you bob, in that there are two competing issues at play here. promotion of product and accurate answers. i say this w/o first hand knowledge of this product, but using common sense.
this, to me, is a simple excercise where you have a car and then an attempt to sell an upgrade, doggedly so.

intended to offer a level of comfort with the product, it doesn't make sense. when push comes to shove, a claim will have to be made with the mfgr, and if they have no such provision for a lifetime guaranty, then it's worthless. as if the tuner is really going to go above and beyond and eat the costs themselves??!! that approach would put a lot of tuners out of business, IMO.

I had an issue in regards to the installation of my MS on my B6 S4. At the time I purchased the suspension there were no offical installation instructions, all I was sent were the instructions for Track Sports on a B6 S4.
After a few thousand miles were on the suspension I would hear a noise whenever turning the wheel. A local B7 S4 had the same issue. We both contacted STaSIS many times until they told us a part needed to be removed during the install.

Well when asked if STaSIS would help out financially since they were the ones that left that important information out, we were both told no. They did tell us we could come to STaSIS and they would do it for free, but since I'm in NY that wasn't going to help.
I ended up selling the car and the suspension a short while after this, so I didn't really do anything about it.
The other person paid for the mistake out of his own pocket.
That being said I would still recommend the MS, they were amazing!

the relationship between a mfgr and reseller invariably relies on the mfgr guaranty(or limited warranty). anyone offering a "lifetime" guaranty that is not supported by the mfgr is highly questionable, to put it kindly.
however, if anyone chooses to print the "guaranty" appearing in this thread onto embossed letterhead, that would amusing : )

I'm not going to name names, but when I was talking to a B5er w/Track Sports about STaSIS....
He was asking me questions about MS I had no answers to and when I told him to call STaSIS b/c they are extremely helpful, he told me that wasn't his experience.
He then told me about another STaSIS customer that didn't get the help he was seeking.
Before these people told me about their experiences I thought there was not business better at Customer Service then STaSIS, even after my issues...I just thought I was just I got the wrong person helping me.
Don't get me wrong we all love the product and would buy/recommend them even with our customer service issues and that says a lot about the product.
