Hi- My insurance rates for California just doubled as my insurance company said they raised the rates on "High Performance" cars. Can NE1 in Los Angeles recommend an insurance company for me to get another quote? I currently have Unitrin and got quoted from Liberty Mutual and Allstate.
I have full coverage for 2 audis (wife has an A3) and it went from $1200 for 6 months up to $2500.
THX

WOW! That's highway robbery. Are you saying that you'll be paying $2500 every six months to insure the two audis? $5000/yr. If so, that sounds very steep. Have you tried AAA. That's who I insure with.

Well, what are your particulars? Do you live in a high risk zip code? How many miles you drive per year? Do you have tickets and accidents in you DMV record? Etc... There are a lot of factors that determine the cost of car insurance. I am with ACSC (AAA) since 1982 and can't be happier with their rates and services.

1. Good driver record (no accidents, tickets, etc...)
2. Multiple vehicles
3. Multiple policies (home insurance also with AAA)
4. The commute to my work is just 16.5 miles round trip.
5. Persistency
6. Select professionals & groups
7. Anti-theft/electronic locator
8. Airbags
9. Garage parking
I think most of the above discounts are self-explanatory. I would recommend talking to your insurance agent to make sure that you are getting ALL the discounts available to you as a member.
I think some of the other possible/available discounts are:
1. Driving course
2. New driver
3. Mature driver
4. Good student

Really? That's fantastic.Four fully covered cars for $1,600/year...man, I have to move to PA. I am sure the fact that I am in Southern California that the rates are higher. Mine is not as bad as the OP, but definitely not as good as yours.
