Re: It looks good, but certainly not "flawless"... I can see the glue coming up around the edges.
You are correct, but you are also looking @ the unit really close up. Just from a standard distance, you really do not notice the edges.

Truth be told...that unit is dead flawless- ->
And I don't believe that is glue you see. If it were, that unit never would have left here.
The tolerances for inserting the housing into the trim are pretty tight.. Sometimes when inserting and removing the housing the finish gets burnished which, while transparent to the naked eye, shines when the flash hits it.
Not that I would give any one kit preferential treatment, but if it weren't perfect I wouldn't have let it be installed in as nice a car as an RS.
In fact...one of your own was waiting on a kit to install in his RS. While assembling it I put a pin head size smudge on the trim. By all rights, it was impossible to see..but I saw it and immediately notified the RS4 owner that I was going to delay delivery so I could build another kit...the first is sitting on my desk at home...probably going in the trash. :-(
Follow the link in my sig...you'll see more..and Speak to those that have it.. Fluffhead was the first RS kit I did, but there are too many B5/B6/B7's, AR's, RS6's, A6's running this kit to count and not a single person less tnat 100% happy...AFAIK.

Industrial Black Cyanoacralate glue, and hot glue on the back-->
I have actually played with casting the entire unit as one piece. They come out perfect, but there are too many variables to getting the color match.
Sun fade, smoker versus non, various interior detaling products all conspire to create an endless assortment of colors and textures.
