Dealer is saying that the brake pads AND rotors are rec. to be replaced together by AoA .. ?

Oh man, don't even get me started...
This is a very long post, so please ignore if you don't have the time...
I had to get my pads replaced at close to 20,000kms. They told me that the rotors must be replaced at the same time. Cost? $3,800 for new front pads and new rotors installed. I said bull****. I said turn the rotors. They said no. I said just leave the rotors and change the pads. They made me sign a waiver saying that this was going against their recommendations. I said whatever, change the pads, I'll sign it.
Next month, I was in an accident. 100% the other drivers fault. My dealer decided they were going to make sure they told my insurance company about the letter I signed. Created nothing but unecessary headaches for me. Ultimately my car was at the dealership for over 6 months to get fixed. Insurance deemed that the other driver was at fault and I was completely in clear. Why the hell was the service department volunteering that letter they made me sign. Just malicious if you ask me.
While the car was at the dealership the mechanic drove it home a couple of times...to better diagnose any problems that wouldn't normally show up. I was infuriated. I sent a letter to Audi Canada exlpaining all the grief that this audi service department caused me. Got a letter saying "talk to the dealership, not our problem"
Anyway, thanks for letting me vent. Now for my advice. Tell the dealer to screw off, go to genuinevwaudiparts.com and buy some pads for a couple of hundred bucks and change them yourself in 20 minutes.

rotors should be under warranty
I went in with worn brake pads and they told me I needed to change my rotors. I believe there is a brake pad sensor in our cars. Guess what, it does not come on. So I told my dealer that I was not responsible for wearing the rotors down. I told them I would pay for the pads but made them warranty the rotors. I had 20K on my car.

Do two things. 1, ask what the min wear thickness is on those rotors. (usually its 2mm less than
original) I.E S4 rotors are 30mm thick, replacement point is 28mm. It took my S4 68K miles to reach that point.
2, Tell them to screw off.

Capilano volks/audi in north vancouver
Sad thing is that we bought a brand new A4 for my mom the same day I picked up my RS4. She's been treated like **** too by the service dept. "Could you please drop me off 5 blocks down the road at the fitness world while my car is being serviced?"..."no mam, we're not a taxi service..."

Re: Dealer is saying that the brake pads AND rotors are rec. to be replaced together by AoA .. ?
That seems absolutely ridiculous! I have 14k on my 07 RS4 and have gone through two sets of rotors and paid for them too@ They're not cheap! You DONT have to change both pads and rotors. The dealerships are crooks sometimes. Mine went bad because of ill fitting wheel spacers! And rotors are never covered by warranty according to Audi of Hawaii.
