I've created a cheat, but I think I've done it wrong...I simply include the band name in the title using this format using the SD card slots behind the Nav on my RS4:

Caps:
DEPECHE MODE

Lower case:
John the Revelator

End result=
DEPECHE MODE:John the Revelator.

Works fine.

However, I can see the benefit of having separate playlists, which require folders and ID3 tags, but can easily be done.

Can be done, but since I only have 500 songs or so on two different 2GB SD cards, I really didn't want to bother.

The bottom line:
I can conceivably store about 1500 songs or so on two different SD cards (750 each) and that's way more music than I have.

I then set my MP3 control to "Mix" so it plays a random selection.

I've broken down my SD cards into two types of music:
Card 1: Bad 80's stuff, + house and trance crap
Card 2: Hair bands, old rock, classics

I'm digging it...works great.

All my MP3s have ID3 tags, and I added some songs in folders (Band, then album) to my SD cards. I guess I'll just have to see how it works out.

I read somewhere that there is a 512 song limit per card, regardless of card size. So, depending on file quality, you may or may not file up the card before the limit.
