this is a matter of opinion. someone else told me that the SL's ride is significantly harsher than stock, especially on rough pavement.
Point is moot for me right now. Like I said in an earlier post, after buying a Porsche Cayenne in May and adding over $8000 in mods to my RS4 and the Cayenne over the past 5 months, the wife is being pretty firm about no more car mods for a while. Can't argue. Shes' been pretty understanding about things so far.
Now.....if my DRC fails....different story entirely, but everything is fine for me after 13,200 miles.

10 days and I have mine back. Two new strut assemblies in the front and a central valve assembly. The ride is far more firm than before. I know the DRC was failing, but it feels firmer than it ever did. The car was always a little floaty (obviously far worse just prior to repair) It is rather buttoned down. No clunking (yet). I think the first repair (predelivery) was done incorrectly. The car never felt like this before. The two front struts were changed pre-delivery. The car still has less than 5K miles on it.
I spoke with AOA personally and was told the DRC was covered for the full 48 month 50K miles. Get them involved now before you pony up any cash at Don Rosen for DRC repair.
I realize I will someday STASIS the car. It is a given. Two thing are keeping me from it right now.
One, warranty. The DRC is covered and if I change to any other suspension, I will have to deal with Audi claiming the "racing suspension" voided my warranty on any suspension related parts (CV joints, tie rods, etc.). I would rather not deal with that. Yes, I may prevail in court, but still a PIA I would rather avoid if possible.
Two, I don't want to spend the money on it. Philosophically, I am opposed to spending $4K to put a decent suspension in my brand new car. I just am. Perhaps with repeated failures I will get fed up and just do it, but for now I refuse.

"Left front shock leaking. Remove L/F shock, replace shock, refit spring, refit hydraulic valve. Bleed system. During test drive found air still in system, rebleed system."
This was all covered under warranty (brought it in at 11,862 miles), so no charge as of yet.

Just reading this thread and have two comments: first, DRC should be covered to 4yr/50k. Secondly, I'm curious about your post listing the service performed on your suspension. I believe the RS4 DRC is almost identical to my RS6 DRC (which I have had repaired four times under CPO). If you had leaking shocks replaced (as you list above) and they didn't replace the central valves at the same time, they did not do the complete repair as required. Any time shocks are pulled with this system, the factory pressurized central valves need replacing or the system is not going to work.
Please excuse me if I read this all too quickly and missed something, but I know from YEARS of experience that AoA, the dealerships and the RS sevice techs have almost zero full disclosure communications with regard to this topic, and a lot of people are still getting sent away with DRCs that are not properly replaced.

before. Only bad thing is that the dealer who rotated the tires on the inspection date, put the fronts on the rear when they did the repair. I was out in the garage today correcting the problem and realized that they never put the belly pan back on the car. Two mistakes. Thank god they're little mistakes as the DRC install looks great and they cleaned it up pretty nice.
No alignment done here but the car is driving straight as an arrow.
