Drove the new M3 tonight for about 40 minutes.

the $1900 package you're referring to is called "Enhanced premium sound"...it may have been called M Audio at some point, but it doesn't appear to be referred to by that name anymore.
Enhanced Premium Sound $1,900
With a power output of 825 watts the Enhanced Audio System is the most powerful sound system ever offered in a BMW. This system features high-quality hi-fi components including 16 high-performance loudspeakers featuring Neodym magnetic drive and exceptionally stiff Hexacone diaphragms, a digital 9-channel amplifier and precision crossovers to guarantee unparalleled sound quality. DIRAC live signal processing technology corrects the impulse response of each loudspeaker, facilitating linear and accurate sound reproduction inside the car. The resulting true impulse response during sound reproduction enables both the driver and all passengers in a BMW to enjoy an extraordinarily multi-faceted and vivid sound experience previously only achieved by high-end home entertainment systems.
Requires optional Navigation system or Technology Package.

Like myself. I've always liked Audis and before buying the RS4, I knew what I was getting into. I kept an open mind and was more inclined to forgive any flaws given my past experiences with previously owned Audis. I knew it was going to be a nose-heavy AWD car engineered to cheat the laws of physics but expected such flaws to become more apparent when driven near the limit. To name a few: it understeers miserably like a pig on tighter corners, steering is accurate but lacks feel and is overboosted, and hard braking from very high speeds (straights can get dicey unless your intention is to trail-brake like a hero.
It's not perfect but I still love the car.
Same with the M3. The big difference being that the RS4 was limited to two production years in the US and the M3 will have a much longer production cycle, and naturally will leave much more time for improvement compared to the RS4. This current generation of M3 will evolve within its production cycle and rightfully so.

And only recently did they fix the configurator which was completely wrong with options and pricing for a while. If you go to a BMW dealer, there is a brochure and more literature about it. It's called the "Individual Audio" in the 7-series, 6-series, and X5. The same system is called "M Audio" in the M5 and M3.
On the BMW dealer ordering system and in the owner's circle vehicle production tracker on the web, it's refered to as "M Audio". That's BMW marketing for you!
Here's a screenshot of my order where it says "M Audio":

this window sticker you posted indicates 'enhanced premium sound', not "M Audio"...I wonder if it's a trademark issue with M-Audio.

either way, "M Audio" is something BMW marketing invented to use in the US market to name the Individual audio option for their M-cars. In Europe, it is still called "Individual Audio" or something like that. It would be ironic if they can't actually use it in the US because a California company called M-Audio exists.
