Several weeks ago I replaced my stock pads with Ferodo DS2500 pads. I thought I'd provide an update.
First, after replacing the pads and changing to high temperature racing brake fluid, these brakes do not fade on the street or on the track at Lime Rock. These pads come into their own as they heat up. Braking power is huge, with very good capability for modulation.
Second, on the street, the brakes are more confidence inspiring. However, they do need to be bedded well, or they will squeak a little bit on a slow rolling stop. Not a huge squeal, just some little annoying squeaks. This will happen after rain or washing the car removes some of the pad transfer material from the rotors. But, 4 or 5 high speed brake applications and no squeaks.
Third, and best of all, these pads deposit about as much brake dust as the stock (Pagid) pads. But, to my surprise when I washed the car, the wheels are very easy to clean. On wheels that were previously scrubbed clean of the stock pad gunk, and then coated with a polymer wax, a pressure washer is all that is needed to completely clean the spokes and inside wheel dish.
All in all, I think this is one of the better upgrades for the car.
