First blemish...

Backed over a high curb - one that I've always been aware of but for whatever reason totally spaced. Scuffed the left rear mud flap area on the bumper - can't see it unless you bend down and look under the car. It's the part of the bumper thats always the first to get wrecked by tire debris. The crunch/scrape sound almost stopped my heart. In a way I'm glad it's over... what a dumb mistake.

Just kidding of course (sort of). ![Stick Out Tongue](https://www.audiworld.com/forums/images/smilies/tongue.gif)
I remember when I first got my M3, I was sooooo ultra careful. One day while I was out driving with my wife, I was behind someone merging onto a very busy highway. The merge lane had a stop sign. The guy in front of me stopped and then proceeded to go. When I saw him move, I started to look back over my left shoulder to watch oncoming traffic and started to go. I didn't realize the guy in front of me had stopped again, and I ended up giving him a 15 mph tap.
Although there was no visible damage, I figured the bumper underneath the cover was probably damaged. The guy I hit was pretty cool about it since there was no "visible" damage, and he drove off after looking at his bumper.
I took it into a BMW body shop and they said it was fine (even though I had to snap the bumper cover into place after the hit). Needless to say, I was extremely pissed at myself for such a dumb driving error. ( I was also pissed at the guy in front of me for whimping out while trying to merge.) The car was no longer "perfect". Oh well, life goes on. It's just a car afterall...

There are but they don't "see" low stuff - at least not low enough to protect against this sort of error.

same as my bimmer, it just seems to warn you a split second too late. I rear-ended a cone in a parking garage and the thing beeped just as I made contact.
oddly enough, the park warning system in my Ford F150 works a LOT better.
