why two transponders on the front? I've had great success with one front and one rear
yes they do try to tag from the rear
why the x50 just for long trips - don't you want radar protection all the time?

nice install. BUT
and i want to put this in the nicest way. i had mine installed in two of the three little holes at the bottom-most portion of the air dam.
are you sure that being that close to the radiator and having that mildly obstructing view behind the hexagonal grill cut outs will not compromise the reflection of the "lenses". the lidatek is excellent but the lenses need to be completely unobstructed. they are an "all or none" type of device. iow- they will either reflect or not reflect. even a small object in front of them or on their periphery(short of a bit of dust, etc..) will compromise them.
mine was not done that way because the installer had had bad experiences with that kind of localization. most SUVs get them mounted there b/c it is the easiest place to put them but for some reason anything even on the periphery of the lens cover can affect their reliability. and SUVs all have big grilles with similar cutout types to the RS4's.
just my 2 cents.

The grill is the prob The way Lidatek works is this A Lidar signal is detected and immediately...
the transponder emits a Lidar signal of it's own to confuse the sending (a.k.a. the cop's) device. For this reason, the transponder must be absolutely unobstructed and completely level (a cheap little bubble level is pachaged with the kit). If the transponder is placed behind the grill, then the only time the device (maybe) will work is if the cop is absolutely zero-degrees straight ahead. If he's shooting from the side of the road then you're cooked. Even with dual transponders (A $200 option!), I wouldn't feel comfortable placing the transponders behind the grill grating. You won't know that the installation was inefective until it's too late - you get a ticket.

Consider LPP. Lidatek did not do so well in recent study
The guys of Lidar recently did a spring 2006 testing of the lidatek, escort and new M-20. Go to www.radardetector.net you can see the actual videos there.........Once my RS4 comes in, I too will be considering which to install....keep us updated...
