Default Got my winter wheels/tires and put them on myself - only one problem

I am now getting a slight vibration at 60 to 70mph. It is really bugging me as the car is not even broken in yet.

They are a set that other people have used and have 3mm spacers. No rubbing. Rotation direction on Tires is correct.

It seems simple - could I have done something wrong in changing the wheels out?

I am getting the feeling that one may be slightly out of balance and if so - Im going to be upset. Kind of takes all the benefit of ordering online if I then need to drop the car at the shop to get them fixed.

More on this later.

Default Welcome to my world

I swapped tires on the stock wheels two weeks ago, and I now feel a vibration when I approach 100mph. I'm hoping it's just a balance issue since it seems fine up to that point.

That said, it snowed in Stowe VT last weekend and the Dunlops were great!

probably simple balance, especially at 60-70. maybe they didn't get all zeros on that one wheel. or, if an aggresive winter tread, you WILL get some vibration. just wait til later.

Default Stowe is beautiful.

TT-East 2006 was there. Great area.

Default I put winter tires on my stockers too. Had a vibration issue around 65-70 mph.

Found a local dealership (non-audi) with a Hunter Road Force balancing machine and had them re-balance the wheels.

No vibrations since.

Figure will give it a shot. Went with 18" M3's and RS6 Replica wheels. Tested last night and at almost 100mph no vibration

Default What are the best all seasons for winter?

Which tires did you go with on the stock 19"s?

Default The hub's on Audi's at times have issue. Pete@Stratmosphere posted a possible solutions once...

Contact him or STFA...

It was something like make sure the wheels are centered and on the hubs perfectly, then tighten while still on lift or jack.

If you're using spacers, torque the lugs with the wheel in the air.
