the solution was to put some silicone spray on a rag and wipe down the sunroof trim/sealer. It Worked. Maybe you can work it in near the handle somehow and not make a mess.

UPS freight pilots that submit issues for mechanics at the end of their run. One such complaint/response went something like this:

Pilot Issue:
"knocking sound coming from under control panel. sounds like little dwarf banging with hammer."

Mechanic Response:
"removed hammer from dwarfs hand"


OT:
Pilot Issue:
"Engine 3 missing"

Mechanic response:
"Engine 3 found on right wing after lengthy search"

I have the same type of creak in what seems to be the same spot. I only have 500 miles on my car, but the creak is there. It is impossible not to notice due to the vicinity to my ear. If you make any progress in finding it, then please post.

Had to revive this thread because it matches my problem EXACTLY. I used armor all on the door seals and it did nothing. I too, can press up on the headliner by the handles and A-pillar. It sounds like very brittle cheap plastic creaking against other very brittle plastic. Sounds terrible when it gets hotter than 80 degrees outside and any time the chassis flexes.

Please help! This is becoming bad enough to make me want to sell the car.
