Default I think it is BS. They can lock rates for at least 30 days.

And I seriously doubt the rates went up that much. Tell them you want them to check local bank rates for you.

www.leasecompare.com has 36 month programs with decent payments.

Default true. but the rates and residuals will still suck.

I would've taken advantage of that but my accountant said it would've been downright sketchy since I've already purchased an X5 4.8is through my business and taken full advanatge of the now-gone loophole of being able to deduct the full amount of any SUV or truck with a GVW of 6000 lbs or higher up to $100k before presodent bush killed it 2 years ago. My "business" does not require that many vehicles so I just bought the damn audi.

Default Re: Use Leasecompare.com.... thanks sparkhill...

The mistake I made was not. I just used the Audi lease, $5K on closing, a similar payment to you, 1326 and the residual was $36K after 48 months. I just released it for 48 months, the payment was reduced to $1122 with a residual of $33K. Total payment including purchasing with the Audi lease was $106K and with LeaseCompare, it is $94K. Money factor was 0.00213 vs the Audi lease.

So, yes, if I had of stayed with the Audi lease, I would have been jacked. I have to pay $1K to convert the lease but at $246/per month less, it pays for itself pretty quickly.

I should have just bought the thing.

A special thanks to sparkhill. I decided to change after reading his lease information. Saved me at least $12K over the Audi lease.

Who's getting deals? I guess it depends on where you are. You aren't getting deals on an RS4 in Greenwich or Westchester, I can gaurantee you that, nor even in the parts of NJ that are within 60 miles of Manhattan.

Maybe further out, up or in, dunno..

I think the 100K SUV deduction was reinstated through 2006.
