When I sell my Cayman S next spring I will probably buy an freshly used E90 M3.
RS4 sounds great for an all around car, but I need a summer car a bit more exciting......
Something that I can also enjoy at the track.......
In the winter I will garage the M3 and take out my Cayenne S to attack the snowy New England roads......
Thanks for helping me in the decision......
Cheers.......

You want excitement? Get yourself a sportbike and all the gear and go to the track. Cars at the track = yawn
I did the Audi sportcar/RS4 experience at Infineon. It was fun but the whole time I wishing I was on my track bike.

Randy, no offense.......
But it sounds like Audi sportcar/RS4 experience at Infineon was a dud, obviously you have never really experienced a real race day (door to door racing) at the track.....
Stick to the bikes, it is much safer.....
Cheers......

No not a dud at all. We were pushing the cars very hard, hitting the limiters, sliding etc. It was a typical track day experience. And I've never seen a youtube clip of anyone bangin' fenders with their RS4 at the track, nor racing one for that matter.
If you're concerned about safety perhaps you should stick to the golf course, obviously.
'Cheers' 'Tally ho' 'Tah Tah'...pffftt...

Concerned about safety?
Dude like I said, I am buying an M3, I know how to handle a car..........
BTW, I don't golf....too boring.....
Novice track days are not exactly considered racing......
Have a good life.....

I thought you stated you weren't going to use the car for 'door to door racing'?
because the M3 is no better choice, the e90 is a 3750 lb car...
and if you think racer boys playing with their 50k machines is more dangerous (or exciting) than a sport bike, you've got a lot to learn...
an M3 will be no faster around a given circuit than an RS4...in fact the RS4 may require more skill for the same output due to its weight, total and bias...

sorry, but if you 'knew' about cars you wouldn't be asking such inane questions

That is the difference between racers and posers.....
As far as the RS4 being faster than an M3 on a track......this is the RS4 forum, so I will not embarass anyone.....
I am out and done......
Now you guys can go back to stroke each other on the back......

True racers have a lot more invested in their race cars than $50K.....

I suppose you are a 'real' racer? and we are not...smug
but you can't fathom what a 4000 lb street car (F:R 60:40) would be like on the track? envision S4 with more HP, lol
ANYONE with a modicum of sense would know a stripped down, modded (suspension, brakes, tires and some motor) e30 or e36 M3 would be a better track car than an RS4 or an e9x M3...btw, these are STREET cars...
I've seen numerous track tests by folks who can actually drive, and the difference typically comes down to the driver, not the car
the only person you're embarressing is yourself...don't fret about us, we're big boys, we won't pack up our toys with our tail betwixt our legs and muddle home...don't let the door hit you in the @$$
peace
side note: the RS4 and the e92 M3 (both with sport tires) ran identical times at the 'Ring, same driver, who is better than you, me and several others combined...

a lesson, it's free:
racer = paid to drive the cars of others
poser = pays to drive, big circle jerk of wanna be's
racer: + cash flow
poser: - cash flow
economics (hypothetical
