Found it Ebay:

I mean for $115 it is not that expensive. That of course brings up the question of how effective it is.

Ok. Someone buy that. Take your engine apart and take pictures of how dirty it is. Put it back together. Use that device. Take it back apart and see how it worked.

Thanks! Ha.

I go for intake cleaning Monday. Having it done at the local VW dealer (Audi is an hour drive for me). They are apparently used to doing it on the VW FSI motors. I have one of those G-techs. I may see if I get a performance difference. He said he usually sees lots of crap get blown out the tail pipe when they are done. Report to follow.

PS... no I am not going to spend an extra 14 hours to take before and after pics with the manifold off. Sorry.

Sounds to me like all you're doing is moving the **** from the intake valves downstream to the cats. Cars don't like plugged up cats.

Cats are covered for 8 years. I think it is just smoke anyway.

I was also told that the cars do better if they are driven hard, blows out the crap and keeps it from building up. I don't know if that is true, but I have been having a helluva lot of fun lately!

High rpm's overwhelming the cyclonic separator is also a theoretical cause for CB, but heck who knows.

Scott, I think JMSIV means he is going to get the BG intake service done.
I doubt the BG will get the already hard baked stuff off. My valves soaked in solvent over night and then the tech spent an hour on each valve scrubbing away.

Before the manual cleaning I had the BG service performed at 25k when I noticed loss of power. It did nothing for my car but hopefully thats not the case for yours.

Let us know either way as BG is coming out with new chemicals that might have better results.

That is what the tech claimed. When I asked a few other RS4 owners that did this process themselves they told me that it sounded right. Depending on the buildup it took them about 45 minutes to an hour. The port is small and its very hard to get in there and work and the build up seems as though it becomes part of the valve. Tough stuff to get off. Thats why I question BG after a certain level of build up. Catch it early enough and thats a different story.
