guy said that with the improved clear coats now, you only need two weeks before waxing. That surprised me. Then he says you gotta wait three months before putting on a clear bra and that surprises me the other way.

At least my little mishap occured before I put on a clear bra. That and it's on someone else's insurance tab. Amazing how little body work $900 buys you.

..today's paints don't require the same amount of setup/cure time as once did (anyhere between 1-3 months depending different variables).

I would not attempt to apply clear bra for at least a month. The stretching/peeling that normally goes with a clear bra install can easily lift off a fresh finish...unfortunately, I know by experience.

In the mean time, just be sure to wash down the unwaxed area as much as possible with a good quality car soap...and try not to leave it dirty in the sun.

Stick with your body shop's recommendation...you don't need to possibly void their warranty.

The paint is already cured at the factory. If were talking about a respray, then those figures are more accurate.

depends if you car was baked or not. non-baked = 3 months
