Plus, while there may be 1/2" of bolt showing once it threads through the wheel, that doesn't mean that this is where it'll engage. Your math is correct for length/pitch, but when you're on the margin, it's just better to count the turns.

The wheel design, not automotive manufacturer dictates whether it is cone or ball seat lugs are required. I know one person who used cone-seat lugs on HRE Monoblocks are the wheels became so loose they almost fell off.
Porsche lugs have a cool aluminum sleeve that seats against the wheel. The 997TT, GT2, GT3 all use lugs that 26mm from the cone to the tip of the threads. The Cayenne bolts are a designed slightly differently and are 5 mm longer. Either one should work fine.
TireRack has inexpensive Beru OEM-compatible TPMS and valve stems.
Otis LA makes lug bolt covers in black (if you go that direction).

All 5x100 or 5x112 VW/Audi OEM wheels use 28mm long 14x1.5 ball seat bolts. I'm sure the other bolts are just there for those of us running aftermarket wheels that use conical seat bolts.
Moral of the story.....CHECK WITH YOUR WHEEL MANUFACTURER IF YOU ARE UNSURE.....unless of course you would like to give new meaning to "three-wheel motion"
