Does Audi make an infrared windshield? I know BMW does and they are sweet!

1 Audi does not make glass, oem is Saint-Gobain, it can be bought anywhere

2 dealers around here do not install glass, they hire one of the mobile shops to do it
just like dent repair, detailing, etc., they outsource it to a professional...
the warranty from a glass company is as good, if not better, than the dealers...it's in writing to boot...

3 the rain sensor, etc., are no big deal, any glass company can handle it

consider:
who do you want to install it...a dealer tech who does maybe 5 per year or a guy or does 1000 per year? we rail against the techs for everything, drc, etc., yet this job which requires, patience and skill we trust them with?

where do you buy new tires? the dealer? no...same difference...

it's your money...but I can buy 2 1/2 windsheilds from a glass company for the price of 1 from the dealer...and guess what? it's identical save the logo...
and if you ask, they may get one with the logo if you can wait...

I guess the point that is made by going through the dealer is, yes, they hire it out but hopefully it is a good company they trust with doing Audi installs etc. Rather than hunting down your random glass shop that mainly does F-150s and Camry's.

Either way, I was surprised at how inexpensive it was, relatively speaking.
