Default I stand corrected

It's a slam dunk with a turbo or a supercharger to get 100hp/L, but not with an NA engine.

Default Honda S2000, Lamborghini Gallardo, Ferrari F430, Civic Si, Acura RSX/TSX,

E46 M3, BMW M5, lotus elise (or any other toyota motor of that variant) the list goes on.

As far as boosted motors go the 4G63, EJ-series (ej257-20T-22T), any ford cosworth 4 cylinder, 2JZ, or any thing of that sort will hold more hp than the RS4's motor, as well have a better volumetric efficiency (given efficiency of rod/piston ratio a/f and how well they expell exhaust with what velocity). They're good engines, so you can't just out them because they're turbo'd. Fact is they'll make more hp than the RS4 motor in N/A or supercharged/turbocharged trim.

Even if you could turbo the RS4 motor, I highly doubt it would make the power of the above motors in stock form.

Default You still don't get it...

You can't rate a motor on hp/l alone, which you seem to be doing. I also proved you wrong by posting a RANGE of companies that have achieved the 100hp/l goal. If that's your theory on a motor achieving greatness then I've proved you wrong in that dept.

Please post something remotely of substance to tell me that the RS4 motor is better than any of the 100hp/l motors I posted. I see I won't be able to get to you with arguing tubo and n/a motors, because you don't understand enough about the characteristics of an engine, how to measure potential, and things of the sort.

Default ok, now that it has taken you 15 min to copy and paste a google search...

TELL me how approaching near F1 piston speeds makes your engine better than #2? In fact tell me what benefit a faster piston speed provides, what does it do for power, how does it affect anything engine wise?

Also notice the lower stroke on the F20C1? Lower displacement and yet it still flows exhaust gas better than an RS4. So tell me bob w. what exactly is the signifigance of your postings in relation to proving me wrong that the F20C is a better motor than or equal to the RS4.

In layman's terms the F20C will and I'll put money on it handle high compression N/A, supercharged, and turbocharged applications better than the 4.2L FSI. Might also want to check that Stroke on the honda motors in comparison to the RS4's motor, they're damn close in piston distance traveled/time. I wouldn't doubt them being able to get there with different rods.

Default who the heck are you, Tailspin?

And what are your professional qualifications? Are you trying to start a fight. I agreed with you and said "I stand corrected." What the f--- more do you want.

Default

it took about 30 seconds, and I never said it was 'better' than anything.
