I've noticed that on my RS4, that it seems to crank a little longer on cold starts than my old S4 did. I think they did this to build oil pressure before starting to reduce chain rattle.
From what I've read there are very few if any chain rattle issues on RS4's!

The video Petoria posted is not his car. You can clearly see its a S4. I think he posted it to show you what his kind of sounds like. B6 and B7 S4's notoriously have chain rattle problems on cold starts.

Hello all, Happy New Year!
After having spent more time with my car, I've become familiar with it's sounds and narrowed down the timing chain sound. I found it emanates most predominately from the driver front wheel well - while at a bank ATM drive through, the sound reflected back to me from the wall and I became concerned again...
When I got home, I confirmed the chain sound is most apparent from the wheel well but not so much from the front or when the hood is open (which is obvious in my video).
Does this make sense, is it common and can I put this to rest? lol.
Thanks.
