M3 Coupe & Sedan pricing announced for the US...

The way I see it the new M3 is going to be about $10,325 less than the RS4
At a base of $54,575 + $6010 to get it similarly equipped to RS4 with premium package would put it at 60,585 compared to the RS4 at 70,910. I used the BMW build your own and built an M5 to see what the options would cost. Notice I said similarly equipped. I don't know what exotic options may be available for the new M3 but it would not compare to the RS4 with premium package. It seems to me these car makers are going away from having crazy options and going with more of a bundled option set anyway.

I'm not sure Lexis is screwed...
Granted, you've gotta get used to the IS-F look. But that was the same for many with the B7 versus B6 - I wasn't keen on the B7 front grille treatment, having a B6 S4. I'm more used to it now and I do think some cars with it like the A5/S5 (and R8 of course) are very nice looking. I'm okay with the RS4 look as well, though I don't consider it anywhere near beautiful. No disrespect intended to you RS4 owners, by the way.
In any case, I spoke to a local Lexus dealer this afternoon who said they're getting an IS-F in mid-February, totally optioned out at roughly $62,000. So to those who expect Lexus to add
$15K for options above the $56K base, you will be surprised.
Since M3 availability seems some time out (given the waiting list and the fact that it hasn't arrived in the US yet), I am seriously considering the IS-F, though the M3 certainly looks better to me than the IS-F. I almost bought an RS4, but due to circumstances I didn't do so, which gives me the opportunity to investigate other marques. And with the new choices coming out soon, I think the RS4 price/performance/total package suffers somewhat.
I'm sure I'll get used to the IS-F look just as I have the B7. It isn't a beautiful car, but the almost $15K differential with the RS4 makes it a less difficult choice.

Did you see all the ones that got scrwed up on the boat ride?
I so like my new M5 the M3 is going to have to be amazing to relinquish this!
I am considering getting a R8 to compliment it when the new engine is made available or selling my E30 M3 and getting a 135tii ( if offered) for my track car.

ever since I put my name down 2 years ago...
when I took delivery of my now traded-away M5, my dealer promised me their first new M3 whenever that was supposed to come.
