Two things:
1. Hold the ESP button down for 3 seconds to turn the traction control as far off as it will go. This will kill the boggin down you feel on hard launches. It will also help with the 1-2 shift lurch.

2. The gas pump pain will wear off in a few months. You wont even think about it.
Thanks for the tip on bullet 1. I am coming off of a 2006 S4 Avant so I am used to the frequent visits to the pump.

Newbie here with recent RS4 and Audi as well. Been with Porsche for many years and always driven a manual transmission. Thanks on the shift lurch tip, I will try it later but I thought it was operator error. I was like, "DAMN" Audi is soo sensitive. So hopefully your tip will stop the unwanted stares that I am getting. It reminded me of the original Rocky movie where Rocky bought that Bad *** TransAm and did not even know how to drive a manual transmission vehicle, talk about some serious shift lurch. Makes me laugh just thinking about that movie. Hehee.

Humm...right after my last post I was thinking to myself, did Trans Am offered a manual tranny or was it automatic and Rocky just didn't know how to drive a car?

holy CRAP! 6800 miles on an Ibis White 2008? That's pretty impressive.

Where was this listed? I didn't see it anywhere while I was looking around over the past 2 months.

hey MTN...I saw your post asking if your OEM S4 wheels will fit your RS4 on audizine.

1. the inner barrel of the wheel may not be big enough to get around the circumference of the brake caliper/rotor.

2. the offset of the wheel (ET45) will certainly NOT be enough to sufficiently ensure spoke clearance from the outermost part of the calipers.

So on both fronts it'll be a challenge to find an 18" OEM wheel that will fit.

For reference, I had 18x8.5" ET38 RS4 reps (VMR708) on my B7 S4, and I saved the wheels hoping to use them as winters on my 2008 RS4. Unfortunately...that didn't go well lol. Didn't fit around the caliper, and the offset didn't work even if the barrel was big enough.

Pics for reference...

Tried to fit my old S4 wheels to my RS4 last night. I was worried about the offset not being sufficient to keep the spokes away from the calipers.

Stock RS4 wheels are 19x9.0 with an offset of ET29.
VMR 708 wheels are 18x8.5 with an offset of ET38.

From an overall offset point of view, this is the equivalent of a 15.35 mm offset difference, or about 2/3 of an inch. So I figured...10mm spacers and it might work? Well, I didn't even get a chance to test the offset...the barrel of the wheel itself wouldn't even get around the calipers. So...back to the drawing board.

You can see the corner of the caliper (directly below the u in the watermark)where the wheel was nicking it...

Interesting fact - RS4 OEM wheel (19x9 ET29) with Continental ContiSportContact3 tire in 255 35 19 96Y XL weighed in at 51.4 lbs. That's really not that bad...that means the wheels only weigh around 25-27 lbs (tire rack says that tire weighs 26...and my scale may not be perfect, so 25-27 is a good guess). I was thinking they'd be closer to 31.

Man 18s looks REALLY small on this car...

Looks like I'm going to have to stick with 19s...so I'm on the lookout. Preferably another set of stockers as I think they just look perfect. Ti package would be great in case you know someone selling. Still need to do a proper photoshoot with this thing. These are all blackberry pics.
