...unless you are trying to color-match for a uniform look, then pick up some of those (non-housing melting) hyperwhites.

instead of amber or hyper white. As is, they look good and match the headlights well.
Opinions are mixed on whether clear or amber are more effective. While it's true that amber have less glare, they also provide less light and less spread(area lit). Unless your healights are off in fog conditions(LOL), you're going to get glare anyway.
Auto mfgrs moved away from amber fog lights years ago, and for a reason.

Yellow fogs would help there, and i would run with only fogs on, but I'm guessing the RS4 doesnt allow that?

I don't think it's advisable to run with only foglights on in heavy fog conditions, and you'll probably be pulled over.
Regardng amber foglights, see below from Tirerack:
<< While auxiliary fog lights have traditionally been available with clear or amber lenses, the amber lens fog light is losing popularity because it has not proven to be more beneficial in foul weather than clear lens fog lights, is not as effective as a clear weather cornering light, and is often less complementary to vehicle styling. The amber lens units significantly reduced the amount of light projected from the lamp assembly onto the road. Instead, many manufacturers are now producing specialized bulbs that utilize the thin glass crystal of the bulb to produce an amber color without reducing light output from the lamp. >>

less glare for me
Makes my vehicle more visible to other cars.
I didn't do the film thing but instead swapped out the bulbs and put in yellow H11s

Styling and looks are subjective. Tirerack who I respect greatly state that it has not been proven that yellow is better. I can tell you that based on personal experience in bad conditions, it is better (granted not scientific experiment results which Tirerack is looking for). The WRC cars have yellow lights when they go through the winter stages exactly for above stated reason.
Here is a similar discussion I found on one of the other boards. It is true that in Switzerland, France, Finland and a couple other Scandinavian countries yellow is more the norm rather than the exception when it comes to fog assemblies.

http://www.mazdas247.com/forum/showthread.php?t=9115</a

I haven't looked under the bumper, is the removal easy and pain free or do one of the liners/plastic skirts need to be removed to gain access to the assembly?
