Need Input: mystery engine noise while car is off

Default I had the same noise. Dealer told me it was the secondary battery turning off.....
Your xenons may flash too. The secondary battery is located where the main battery is on the a4's.

Default Awesome! This has to be it cause he has the xenon flash too. Why have the rest of us never heard
this noise?

Default This must be it! For a few days I thought I was going crazy when
the xenon flash briefly while the car was off. I did not think to include that detail in the original post but I'm glad Zach mentioned it. Zach, does this still happen to you? How many miles do you have and most importantly is there a way to correct it because it sounds like others don't have the same issue.

The Bentley service manual should clear this up(secondary battery or not)

Default It happened a few times on my previous RS4. So far, it has only happened once on the 2nd RS4
First had 10k miles

2nd currently has 3700 miles

Default 2ndary battery or relay or whatever it is..... I had two service centers say the exact same thing.
The service centers are also the biggest RS4 dealers in TX, too....

Default If you have a Bentley, it will be covered under the "Charging" system
take a look and see if it mentions a secondary battery.
