What's up RS4 owners, glad to be able to be a part of this forum, i've read so many post's and threads my eyeballs hurt, because i am curious about my new car and what's its capable of and the do's and don'ts of our cars.. i'm curious should i go ahead and replace the clutch with a spec stage 2 or upgrade the suspension from the OEM? Any reply would be appreciated..

Welcome and congrats on the RS4!

In terms of mods/upgrades, what are you looking for out of your RS4? Is it going to be your DD? Are you looking to do track days or any other form of motorsport in it?

2nd that on the welcome and yes tell us what your plans are on the car as that determines the mods. If you do not plan to track it then OEM stuff is still quite qood.

I'm pretty sure the JHM stage III or IV clutches are thought of as the best for the RS4 and I haven't seen many others. The lightweight flywheel is a nice piece as it shaves 13lbs of rotating mass right at the crank so definitely a nice little way to free up horsepower. It's about 1600 or something.

I have the stocker in my car, and it's very solid so I will stick with it.

Default CPO mods

Building on this new owner thread, what mods can be done without voiding the certified warranty? I got 2 yrs / 50k from date of purchase yesterday and am enjoying the stock performance just fine. But are there any obvious light mods I should be considering early while still under warranty? I have typically done K&N filters on prior cars and will do so here but would welcome other thoughts/experiences. Thanks all for this forum!

It's gonna be my DD. My clutch is still oem and let's off around mid way from release. I read a lot about the drc system and would an upgrade on the suspension be the best option before doing anything else? I also plan to drag a little and autocross in the near future.

For people who don't plan to road race I'm not sure why you'd every spend the money on replacing the suspension. I do track days which is the only reason I'm even considering it. It has a decent amount of under steer so if the coilovers correct that it may be worth it for my use. You'd never really notice it on the road though. Oddly enough, I got to drive the V10 R8 at Las Vegas Speedway a few weeks ago and it has almost the same amount of understeer. I guess spending the extra $100k on that car doesn't buy you increased cornering ability! The JHM tune is a great idea if they ever get back to you when you try to order it. I've been waiting about 2 months now. (Supposedly they are in the middle of a server upgrade or something). But until you get comfortable and confident with the stock setup you should just leave it alone. The carbon clean should actually be first on your list. I picked up about 15hp.

Couple of things. DRC is a great system and provides the best of track and real world driving.

The RS is a pig for autocross. It's heavy (front) and not really what this car is about. Drag Racing will definitely eat up your clutch. The RS is much better and more fun for tracking - suggest you join one of the Audi Club local groups and get certified for track use.

I agree, I don't think the autocross is going to work out too well regardless of the suspension. It wouldn't surprise me if you got beat by every 2wd car u match up with. Thats all about tight turns and this car doesnt do that. On the track I have to setup for a late apex or it just won't turn. It does mean early on the power though! Our local track has 2 courses, one is extremely tight and I refuse to even go out there. I'm hoping to try out an RS4 with coil overs this summer. I'm not sure of anything can hide how nose heavy the car is, but the lower ride height the coil overs allow could help.
