Mine used 2 litres in first 5K, 1 litre in next 5K and not needed a top-up since (now at 18K miles)

not living up to the expectations. Jag and some other guis have really been throught the gambit of Euro oil testing and imo if you want VW502, SynPower 5w-40, German Syntec 0w-30 from Autozone or Pennzoil Platinum Euro 5w-40 or Mobil 1 0w-40. Dealer Syntec 5w-40 is about the lamest 5w-40 there is.

If you don't care about specs, Mobil 1 5w-40 Turbo Diesel Truck, Shell Rotella T Synth 5w-40, RLI RS4 oil, a good choice would also be Pennzoil Platinum 15w-50 from PepBoys Another good one would be the new Mobil 1 10w-40 Hi-Miles, SL rated with extra additives, pretty much a HP race oil. I'd spend money on a Used Oil lab Analysis before a pretty Euro oil. Terry Dyson has been looking hard at these engine and FSI systems, anything wierd in the UOA wear metals and I'd pay for his interpretation.
