for people to buy the Beltronics or Escort 8500, being he sells them. For me I had the same dilemma and read Radar Roy's site in addition to every other review I could find. I come from years of using escort products, including their installed SR7 on my M3. What finally swayed me was purchasing both and using both for a month, and finally ebaying the Escort 8500 X50 which I preferred less than the V1.
Truth is maybe the reason that there is so many conflicting opinions is because the real world performance is so close. Though I have never met a Valentine 1 user who is not a devoted fan and that meant a lot to me, being I know a lot of users. I also like Valetine's easily accessible upgrade system, where you can see right from their website that you have the most current software version. The other makers advertise that their detectors can be upgraded, but I could not find it so easily on their site.

in california and nevada i've never seen a X alarm that produced a cop. in my area the sheriff, LAPD, and all "your speed is" signs use K. CHP uses Ka and laser.
after noticing this i did ask a few cop friends who did confirm my suspicions. they said they haven't seen an X gun in ages. they couldn't promise that there aren't a few left out there in circulation, but the odds are so slim that i don't worry about it much.

...for a stealthier installation. but fo the money, it kicks ***.
the arrows rule. really makes you more confident about the quality of the signals and the location of "the fuzz".
