I agree that a stray 'blip' ahead is something to be concerned about, while one behind much less so. Only with the arrows can you know how to determine this.
With experience using any detector it is relatively easy to determine if a cop is stationary, moving in your direction, or moving in the other direction. On a highway with a large median (common in CA), a cop on the other side is not much of a threat. By using the V1's arrows in conjunction with experience as to which way the cop is moving, about half the alerts can be dismissed as non-threatening.

I disagree that the arrows are a "distraction"....
that's cool if you prefer looking at the display for the threats. I personally don't need that but that's why there is chocolate and vanilla. You're happy with yours, I'm happy with mine, we're all just one big happy family.
