3rd, they should have switched cars and had the M3 driver take the RS4. He was a better driver.

Default Check out the RS4 clutch pedal through launch

The driver's foot is OFF the pedal, but it takes some time to return to its 'free' position.

Is that the infamous sticky clutch TSB issue ?

Default RS4 was TOYING with M3 for the first half of the race

The gap at the end of the race was far smaller than it could have been.

RS4 guy's pass looked to me as if it was executed at will, rather than simply at his first opportunity.

Default No, the M3 driver decided it would be better to let the RS4 pass.

It would be a real shocker if a 7 year old and 87 hp less M3 cross the finish line first, wouldn't it.

Good thing the video ends there as you wouldn't want to see what comes next ;-)

Default Upon further review, I think you're right --more--

1. M3 driver is a bit sloppy, while the RS4 driver is noticeably smoother.

2. I'm surprised that the RS4 does not gain more ground under power on the straights.

3. M3 driver does not blip for downshifts (you and I know SMG works better if you do, but this truth has somehow escaped universal attention)

Default That's right, must have been the driver, LOL. You didn't notice...

that once the RS4 overtook th M3(with relative ease I might add) that it held its lead on the straights as well as thru the corners...actually "built" its lead.

Blip away!

Default Whiiffffff. You missed the point.

Let me dumb it down for you:

1. nobody is saying that it was the driver, except you.

2. RS4 is stuck to the back of the M3 for the majority of the race (hint: this indicates that the RS4/driver combination is faster)

3. RS4 overtakes M3, but requires more time than expected to pull away (given horsepower and driver skill), and when he does, he does not pull away at the rate you would expect.

4. Given all of the above, it is remarkable that the disadvantaged M3 did so well for so long, and that the RS4 did not do better.
