The F16 by being smaller and lighter should be the better of the two fighters at dog fighting in the pure sense. It should out manoeuvre the F15 in close air to air combat.

Yes, you actually stumbled on that one, LOL.
The F16 is the fighter...the F15 the interceptor(or air superiority)...the F14(Navy) was for fleet defense(carriers and the like)...the F18 is the Navy/Marine fighter/bomber(it finally replaced the F14's) and the new F22 Raptor is the latest fighter that incorporates stealth technology WITH supersonic speed, which is not easy to do. You'll notice the F117 stealth fighter is sub mach.
How's that for ya? I studied military aircraft of the world in college...Jane's, Aviation Weekly, etc.
