Default 8500 x50 also. I own both and just ditched the V1...

People dont like to admit it, but it routinely sends out 5 to 8 bogies of false signals in cities. I called my V1 buddies and they just said, "Oh, I just turn it off in the city". You can put it in a mode that completely disables a band but why should you have to do that? I take highway trips and there are cops that use that band. I got popped 1 day after buying it with laser. It never went off. I got lasered again with the 8500 on a road trip and immediately jammed on the brakes. He never pulled out after me. That's what's great about the 8500. If I hear a peep out of it I KNOW it's a cop and I hit the brakes. WIth the V1 I was checking arrows and bogies and all that other bull**** because it goes off all the time. In that one second you hesitate with the V1 bc you think the arrows are actually useful or you should be checking bogies the cop will lock on. IMO, you need a detector you can trust, and if the 8500 makes a peep you slam on the brakes and it saves you. Great device and I have tested them both now on road trips.
