have just purchased RS4. Have been a proud and still owner of 2000 S4 and 2001 S8. I was looking at laser deflectors and like LPP. On my way home the other day I was existing the highway at 85 mph and noticed a motor cycle officer shootong laser. I was surely busted so I didn't even brake. He looked at me but continued to shoot trafic. Speed limit is 65.
Made me wonder. I have Megelo blue with no front license plate. Our head lights are opaque if you look at them which would I think diffuse laser. Could the RS4 possible be stealth? Any one busted with no front plate and dark color paint?

or his equipment had a temporary glitch. fortunately, my local PD doesn't use laser (confirmed by a very good friend who works for them), otherwise I'd employ all available countermeasures.

maybe not 80
yes, darker cars with no front plate are less good targets. He is looking at all of traffic and the likely place to find a speeder is the left most lane, not the exit ramp. He has only fractions of a second to decide who to target - he is going to go with the most likely target area, the left lane. The headlights on our cars are still good targets. If you use "the veil" headlight covering that supposedly helps but I have no idea how that stuff looks on the headlights. Lastly, if your xenon headlights were on and he was low and to the right, the xenons do emit light in the near infrared, which confuses his gun reducing effective range.
As I live in PA and rarely drive in the People's Republic of New Jersey, I have no laser countermeasures on my car. If I lived in an area where its use was prevalent, I would research the different products. I forget the manufacturer, but I liked the one that gives me a warning, jams him for 3-5 seconds and then shuts off. That way, I have time to adjust my speed, he still gets a clocking on me on his second or third shot, and everybody would be happy. If he is "jammed to the gun", he is going to chase me to have a conversation about that.
I had a very primitive laser countermeasure on an old hot rod 15 years ago when this technology first entered speed enforcement. It worked, but was kinda hot to stand in front of the car.

and the funny thing is that they really are parking sensors too. They operate at the same frequency that radar uses as well as some of the newer cars that come with the auto distance device used in conjunction with cruise control. go to radarreviews.net and search under LPP and Laser Star, plenty of vids of jams and other info.
