when on the freeway at a leisurely 75 and I see a BMW coming hard from a distance. As he gets closer, maybe 100 yards, I drop it into 4th and am suddenly at 110. Usually the fool doesn't know what happened, but sometimes they'll be right with me on the move...but still well back, as I can anticipate this all the time.

Anyway, when I've had enough of keeping them at bay(maybe a mile of freeway or so), I'll upshift and drift over a couple lanes, dropping back down to 75 or so. That's when the spud will then seize his chance(LOL) and come rushing by me, the idiot! Total contempt for a bogus move like that. I just shake my head or give the thumb down...let him get the ticket down the road.

It happens with them all...325's, 328's, 330's and M3's. Even an occasional Z4.

so true, but these debates are waged purely on paper anyway. the poster was obviously suggesting he'd seen professional times of 5.1, which is nothing short of ludicrous.

I'll say it again, it's basic insecurity...such as: how to somehow try and belittle the RS4 against the M3. Some posts there were very good though, and reasonable. So it seems like just the select few BMW idiots who are feeling a little inadequate right now...to keep insisting that the RS4 is no match for the E46 M3. Paleez!

that I disagreed and was literally jumped by dozens of "pals" from the B5 board that were alerted to go on a feeding frenzy. To me, you either have an honest discussion, even if one person is correct and the other is wrong, or you have people who like to sandbag others here.

I saw the same thing happen to you. Objectivity is definitely at a premium here. You have to be very careful what you say, because the so called "experts" here will just attempt to shout you down, with a lttle help from their friends.

But hey, that's another story, another time.

My credentials do make me an "expert" on automotive technology, but I'm not one to go around and spout that off.

I respect you're knowledge but your attitude is VERY condescending most of the time.

As for the "pals" comment, there was no doubt at all on that one...they all jumped in to your defense, even quoting your credentials right and left. Which is okay, but at the same time there were some total spazzes getting their jollies in all that. Are these the "pals" you're ready to turn on now?
