In terms of the armrest squeak, I found running a small screwdriver around the inside trim/lining, and bending it out slightly from where it meets the outer housing made a massive difference (had a mild squeaky noise every time I lent on it in the RS4 originally - previous B6 S4 armrest didn't make any noise).
Give this a go - be interested to hear the feedback!! :-)

Someone else took the whole thing apart, and put some stuff in there to stop the squeak in the hinge mechanism. Sprayed some kind of lubricant (that 3M stuff that's like WD40 on steroids).
He DIY'd it and did a write up somewhere...

Took ownership in 2007 and got 113K on her right now. Carbon Cleaning at 100K, 3 Sets of tires over the years, Replaced Front Rotors and Brake pads at 55K and oil changes. So far the car has been great and still get offers from people wanting to buy it and think it's a new model in the States.

07 RS4, At 81K and i have had the car since 48k. No major issues except with the DRC which my dealership took care of. Had the recall work done but several months later the fronts needed replacing again. Had a subframe bolt issue which took them a while to figure out. Minor issues were: shifter needed replacing but I think previous owner had something else in there; cam position sensor needed replacing. Front rotors feel like they need replacing again but i think almost 35k on stock rotors and pads is pretty good. Armrest is the only thing that creaks in my car and windshield at certain temperature/humidity levels. Other than that the car is perfect.

139K and its a joy to drive when all is good. I've done two CB cleans at 99K and 139K. On the second CB clean replaced the oil seperator. I'm using Mobile 1 and Shell gas - so this had no affect on CB. Had issues with hesitation during acceleration above 3.5K rpm but car would get past it. It go to the point car would accelerate without hesitation above 3.5K. Long story short - replaced both HPFP.
So besides the CB the car has been solid. The HPFP is another story.
