RS4 vs. M3
OK so I know the older M3's we can take, with no problem.... but does anyone know if we can take the newer ones? there's this guy at my gym that I reallly wanna give the bizness too! He's probably got a 2009 or 2010 I think?

I think it would be dependent upon the driver...if you drive better than him you should beat him. I think the cars are pretty equal in a straight line...it also may be dependent upon weather.

However, who cares about street racing. Sure, it's nice to have bragging rights, but from what I've heard the M3 doesn't have much low-end or mid-range, so the RS4 probably feels quicker on a daily driving basis.

Hey, both are great cars, my bro has 11 m3.. ive driven both. our car is quicker off the line, because of quattro. the m3 catches up at about 80mph.. then we can only see tailightd. But who cares. Our car sounds better, made better and much more character. and they dont make them anymore... btw in the winter my bro drives a 05 s4!!!

race him from a dig, and don't get out of 3rd gear. Tell him your 4th gear is ****ed. I say this because over 100mph the M3 will fly away from you so fast that you'll wonder what just happened.
With that being said in my B7 S4 that is basically exactly as fast as my bone stock RS4, I beat a friend in his E9? convertible on 3 out of 3 runs (we went from a roll in 2nd to about 110 mph. My B7 ran 12.99 @ 107 and my stock RS4 at the same track ran 12.94 @ 107 to give you an idea of how close my S4 was to an RS4.
I guess the convertible weighs 3-400 lbs more since it's a convertible and has hard top roof. Vs. a coupe or sedan though, you will get raped up top.

Sweet info guys!!! Yeah this guy has a sedan.... He always burns rubber when he leaves the gym....and he knows nothing about cars....I told him I put a Valentine 1 in my car...and he was like what's that? LOL...so I know he's not a driver..he just wanted to cruise around town in his M3! LOL But yeah I'm gonna give it a shot up to 3 rd gear and see what happens! I'll keep you guys posted!

Unfortunately, I've seen several YouTube vids with the V8 M3 walking away from the RS4. I've yet to see a video with an RS4 beating the M3.

The M3 will eat the RS4 for breakfast, lunch & dinner in the 1/4 mile. But with that said, who cares. I'll take my RS any day over the M3
