Running rich?

Take a look at my post. I said nothing about mixture enrichment being unique. You have a tendancy to read things into my posts which were not written. I try to be fairly precise with my language, however, I am an engineer, and we generally are not known for our writing abilities.

to answer every RS4 question in a very absolute manner, citing a specific example/theory, without considering some of the more common causes. Be careful in doing that.

I'm just trying to get him to lighten up a little.
Someone's car is running rough on a cold start and he tells them it's bad fuel, to try additive x....when it could be ECU, coilpack, o2 sensor, MAF, any number of things.
Someone asks about engine break-in, and he says do it exactly this way and you should have no oil consumption, because he did and he doesn't.
If he would qualify his stmts at least, then I wouldn't take issue. But, he's not...he stopped doing that awhile ago, and seems to be on an engineering crusade of sorts here.
Let's keep things in prespective, and not all become de facto experts, and not get carried away with advice presented as facts...or I THINK this worked on my car, so it's the way to go.

You're right. Why don't you go ahead and mention those other possibilities? Or are you throwing up a smoke screen? I'm open to other possibilities. But this thread was about someone noticing that his engine runs rich. Everything I said in this thread was factual. I don't see what your problem is with what I posted. Or would you rather have me say that "yeah, i get black stuff on my exhaust tips too?"
Dave, you seem to have a problem with anyone who presents factual information that is not you. Why do you have such a vested interest in this forum, or do you do this on all Audi forums?
