So milltek and tuning will get you .6-.8 tenths faster 0-100kmh?
I don't know about that...The brakes and stasis sure...but again, this engine is a masterpiece. I looked at spending up to 100k on a car, and this was it. Nothing for under 100k I wanted more.....drive one...I don;t care what mods you do to the B6/B7 4.2 try the RS4 screaming down the road in 4th at 8000rpm...insane!!

the extra 1000 rpm is nice
and I'll be the first one to tell you the 4.2 FSI is a superior engine in every way.
Is it worth the extra $20k? Most RS4 owners aren't pinching their pennies, so sure. For the rest of us mere mortals, I'd say no.

with installation, the mods you listed....
...would be very close to the price difference between a new B7 S4 and a new RS4. So for the same almost the same price, you'd have a car that *might* handle and brake as well, wouldn't accelerate as well, and would have no warranty. Great choice.

I asked this same question
I posted whether or not to doo all of the upgrades..It was about 15 grand, or simply get the rs....made the mistake of taking up one of the guys here on their offer to drive theirs...that is all it took.....
