Default Perhaps you can find more reliable data on DragTimes.com...

Lately E63s are spending their time in mid 12s, some stock E55s are in high 11s. Track prep might have something to do with the outcome when the cars you mentioned with rear wheel drive do so poorly, while AWD cars do so well.

Does your statement have something to do with YOUR maturity?

Default I just thought that cross shopping 996tt and RS4 was odd and if you'r asking can mods take the RS4

to 996tt speed then the answer is no. There is over 400 lbs difference in weight.

Default I'm a little lost because thats how making a car fast works, Including Race Cars.

Lower relative torque, high rpm. As stated that's why Formula 1 engines are 700+ HP engines with like 300 ft/lb torque.

Default Yes and no.

The current R8 has the same engine as the RS 4, which I'm sure most people would find to be great, but the release of a V10 version is not far off, I think later this year. Also if you look at the front page of Audiwold at the moment there is the R8 V12 TDI. Who knows, maybe it will be brought into production. Apart from these versions of the R8 I think the standard one is great. It depends though, some people like to go round corners and race tracks etc fast, while others like to just speed up and down on a straight stretch.

I like corners and as far as all the reviews have said, the R8 is excellent. Jeremy Clarkson said that the car can literally dance when its on the track. Apart from this the R8 has such an amazing prescence, design and build quality, so much more over the Porsche in my opinion (the Porsche is still great though).

Honestly though, if I was going to get an R8 I would wait for the V10 version. I'd try an R8 out though before you cancell it out. No matter what someone says about something you need to judge it for yourself in the end.

The new RS 6 is out very soon too, you will be spoiled for choice. You should also look at the Jaguar XKR, Aston Martin V8 Vantage and Maserati Granturismo.

Default I heard that the new RS6 was not slated for US... is that correct?

Even so, it will probably be at 6 figures. My budget now is in mid 80s. So as much as I would love to buy the cars you mentioned, it is out of my price range for now. The jag is nice but will depreciate heavy in the first year. Maybe after that? Wouldn't have the Austin as my every day car. The 996tt that I'm looking at would probably be an 04.

Yes, but for the mere mortals that drive every day, some of us require low and mid range power.

Default I'm not sure about the RS6.

I don't live in the US, but from what I have heard people say on these forums it isn't going over. I did speak to a person who is high up the Audi chain at a motor show where I live and he said that the US would apparently get a detuned version of the RS6.

That sounds a bit stupid to me and kind of defeats the purpose of the car in my opinion. Who knows though I guess we will all just have to wait and see.
