Default Tire size question

I have ordered my new wheels Work T1S in BP finish 20X9.5 ET20 all around. I would like to go with 265/20/20 tires all around as well so I can rotate.
My questions are:
Will I have any rubbing issues with stock suspension?
The only choice of tires in that size from Tire Rack is Conti Sport Contact2 or Goodrich G-Force. Neither are great but I would lean to the Conti's.
Any comments would be appreciated.

Default i've been told you could actually fit 285/25/20 tires, with minor modifications.

call up Eric at Supreme Power Parts in SoCal...he told me he put that size on a RS4. He'll match Tire Rack's prices on the tires, BTW.

I'm looking for proper fit without minor modifications.

Default I do not think you will rub.........

I just put on my 275/30/19 RE-OR1s and there is a lot of clearance. SO much so that I ordered 10mm spacers. that may cut it close. However, I am thinking that perhaps in a year, if I hang on the the car, which I think I will, I enjoy it so much, I will upgrade the rims to a size that could fit 285 in the rear. Perhaps a 285 rear 265 front set up. I know it would give me even more understeer upfront, but I do not track the car...I just think the wide stance looks sweet.

I would go with the Contis. I know a number of folks that run that tire and enjoy it, though none on an RS4....That said, I think 20s would look too big on this car..unless you're in LA...

Default Your tire size is WAY off......

Your rolling diameter will decrease 47mm compared to stock. That is huge. 275/25/20 or 265/30/20 would be better. The former will give you a rolling diameter 16mm less than stock, the latter will give you a rolling diameter 6mm greater than stock.

Default HRE's new 1-piece forged monoblock wheels can be built.....

in a 19x9.5" size that will fit a 285 tire. 285/30/19 rear and 255/35/19 front would mate perfectly. Understeer can be handled with your H-sport sway bars and since the quattro is a 60:40 rear bias split to begin with, you are actually starting out with a more appropriate traction split than going with the same tire size all around.

Here's what I'm figuring I may do myself......

If I went with 275/30/19 on the 19x9.5" wheels (21lbs for HRE), that would decrease rolling diameter by 14mm. This equates to a 7 mm increase in fender gap, and a 7mm overall drop in ride height as well. Then.....add Stasis SL suspension which will drop ride height by 6-7 mm.

You will end up with a 14mm overall ride height drop, you will maintain the stock tire clearance (aka fender gap), you will fit a 275 tire on a wheel that is 5lb lighter per corner, and since the speedo reads slightly high by about 3mph, going to the slightly undersized tire diameter will correct this also.

Click the link for a pic of the HRE P40 wheel. I actually think this wheel is one that looks better than stock

hot wheel for RS4

Default You can, but you'll need a properly designed wheel. See my link

I contacted HRE about this. Perfect fitment, no spacer needed, fits 285/30 tire. Wheel is completely custom built 1-piece forged, about $1500 each. 21 lbs for 19". I'm guessing about 23lbs for 20".

wheel for RS4

I love that wheel, but it really looks like the ones that came on the M3 CS.
