Default Trade in value on '08 RS4-

Thinking about trading in the RS4 for something more economical- any ideas about trade in value / auction pricing for a 2008 RS4 w/premium, 6500 miles, Gray/Blk? 1 dealer told me $50K yesterday-

Default That's a $20k hit

on a car you've probably only had for a few months. Also, considering new 08's are selling for as low as $60k right now, $50k trade-in value might be a little optimistic, with "auction" prices being even lower.

Of course, you can always find a dealer to give you a higher than expected trade-in, but you'll pay at the other end.

Default You're taking a big hit on a RS4?

Besides, you only take the hit if and when you sell it. Keep the car the long enough and you get your money's worth.

Default Re: Recent Auction Prices

I'm surprised no auctions below $50k. What area of the country were those price examples from?
