Interesting you guys seem not to end being fond of your M3's.
I am have been contemplating switching from my 07 RS4 sedan to an 08 M3 convertible within the next few months or in 2010.
But I have never driven an M3. So who knows...
Regards
Nick

Only a couple annoying rattles, but that's to be expected with any German car. My M3 had a bunch and it only had about 9k miles.

I think it's a personal preference thing. I'd try both if I were you. I personally could never get comfortable in the M seats. I like the recaros way better.

I had a 335xi (E90) for a few months. I testdrove a brand new 08 S4 sedan and 8k miles RS4 before the BMW and I knew both Audis were better cars. Obviously 335 is not M3. Confort was fine with the 335, Audi is much better the Audi interior is nicer than the 335. Drawback on the B7 is that many gadgets are showing their age. Nav, bluetooth integration, keyless start, stereo. Do they increase performance? Nope but still when we pay $55-65k for a car one expects them as given.

But personally it's about the driving dynamics. I took the car up one of the twisty roads around here last night and I just love it so much more than the M3. It basically comes down to a personal preference thing. The M3 is definitely an awesome car, just very different in personality.

FWIW, in the Porsche forums the M3 seems to be, hands down, the winner between the 2......
