Default It's actually kinda comical how many Bentley Continental GT's there are in South Beach.

You almost see as much of them as taxi cabs, at least at the hotel I usually stay at where there's at least 5 or so always clogging up the lobby driveway.

It must be the official car of Miami.

Default Pretty sad when you think about it...

No wonder it's the hardest hit economic area in the country. So glad we left when we did.

Default out of curiosity...how much of the wealth there do you think came from the 80's cocaine trade?

i watched a documentary about this recently, i think on HBO, and was amazed by the description of the amount of cash that came into south FL in the 80's. so much cash, people were just arbitrarily buying real estate, cars, boats, etc. in all-cash transactions. And the show made it pretty clear that it wasn't just a few 'elite' kingpins, but literally hundreds or even thousands of individuals.

Default Cocane Cowboys?

It's very true and still goes on today. The collapse of the real estate market has had a huge effect on the drug trade. When you can no longer launder the money the chain breaks.
