Tacky for sure, but it's the best option for this app.
It's quick, doesn't molest the factory wiring harness, and can be seen (only) by those who need to see it.

That's what I've been wondering too! Since no one responded....I went ahead and bought a "ATM" fuse adapter...that lets you pull out an existing fuse and tap into its power by a short cord that you can plug into the v1 "direct wire" kit and then do the ground the way he did in the picture. It works great!

Thanks. Did you use the Valentine 'adapter' on a A3? Was there room in the fuse box/compartment to 'hide' the adapter or did you mount it somewhere else/outside the compartment. Did you remove the "A" piller cover to route the wire?
Thanks again.
Thanks again.

I did it on my RS4...not A3..yes there was plenty of room to hide the electronics in the fuse box..there's like a hole open compartment above the fuse panel. As far as hiding the cord...I did just like he did in the pics and just tucked the cord along the windshield and down the a pillar using like a plastic butter knife LOL the only part that was hard to tuck in was in the middle of the A pillar..its like there's a screw or something that blocks you from sliding the cord under that panel. I just left the cord out at that part until I can figure out how to hide the cord right there (1 inch length of cord) But other than that..you can't see the cord at all anywhere else. Pretty simple process. Only thing that was hard was figuring out how to tap into vehicle power, but using that ATM adapter I bought at Autozone for like $5.00 it made everything work fine.
