OK, so maybe our cars will see 'price stabilization'. Not that I particularly care, but they will likely be even more sought after/appreciated if there indeed won't be an B8 RS4 forthcoming.
I wonder if Audi will decide to make a B8 RS4 at the very tail end of the B8 lifecycle, just as the B7. The issue with Quattro GmbH has been that up until now (that they have seen some infusion from Audi in terms of personnel and $$$) they couldn't make two RS models simultanously. Audi may easily decide to 'dump' the RS5 450hp engine in the B8, although that too would go against the norm because it is what AMG and ///M divisions do, while RS has always had a unique engine per model type.
Was hoping the RS5 will have a forced induction engine for better modding, but alas. It will be pretty impossible to extract more meaningful hp out of the 450 stock (I've always wondered why the RS4 only had 1 intake, clearly there are benefits to it breething better). Anyhow, glad the RS5 will see the light of day, hopefully we will see it here States-side. Now the question is do we keep the RS4 or replace it with what will likely be a stunning RS5 ;-o)

Originally the exhaust system was designed with a larger diameter, but the engine moves around enough while driving around that it was necessary to go with a smaller diameter exhaust system...
Perhaps if one replaced their engine mounts with more solid (is there such a thing) ones you could go with a larger exhaust...

I feel like we heard this story before with the 2.7 A6. I wonder if oval pipes would provide the clearance, and the cost/time to fab those is the limiting factor.
Would love another 30+ ponies in this car.
