Same thing they do on stock system, change the sound.

so if you get the valved ones - when you hit the S button you can toggle the volume still?

Yes, the valves work the same way as the stock valves.

Default hmm cool...but adds quite a price...still not sure which system to order
sounds like the resonated-non valve makes the most sense - i fear the non resonated would be too loud day to day

Default I got the valved for resale purpose...
I have them plugged right now, but when I go to sell car I figured it would be an easier sell.
