so he should go to achtuning (a garage, who doesn't tune anything) and get a random **** tune for $700? What's the good in that?

Go buy some o2 spacers or stock downpipes with cats and have achtuning (a garage, who doesn't tune anything) install them for him.

I swear anything posted on an Audi board becomes a JHM C**K gobble. I in no way insinuated the the OP SHOULD get any tune over any other I said,

The OP said the dealer suggested that he have Achtuning reflash the car.

Default Better gas mileage?

I bought my RS4 about a year ago with 45K on it so I don't know what it felt like to drive when it was new. I love this car so much! One thing I've noted though is my gas mileage is getting worse and I'm wondering if that is a sign the carbon build-up is getting to be an issue? Or are those 2 things unrelated? Not that I bought the car for its gas mileage but might this be an indicator of really bad carbon? I did just have the 55K service done and the car runs great.

BTW, Barrier said they thought I'd get 30-40HP increase if I had it cleaned. They charge about $800.

You'll see both a mileage and HP increase. 30-40P is average, mine was around 30. The increased flow is obviously going to help HP but the carbon on the intake valves and veins really screws up the critical swirl pattern that's designed into the intake/veins/head. That swirl is CRITICAL to mixing incoming air with the spray pattern of the direct injectors. A good CC does wonders for HP, fuel mileage, and cold-weather running.
