Default If the kid earned the car by working hard in school and the parents were very wealthy thats great,

but atleast learn how to drive a stick. Thats just sad

Default I don't want to argue about working hard in school, but still you should learn on a lesser car

So that when you get a real car you have room to improve in. It's not a matter of doing it with stick or not, it's learning how to drive first and how to push the limits second.

Default I got a ram air IV Trans-Am for getting a full ride to college, looking back I was lucky to...

have survived that gift. The fact that it was sold 13 months later because I could no longer get insurance probably kept me alive. As a prevoius 17 year old in an "apex predator car" the two really shouldn't be mixed.

Default NOOOOOO!!! Nate, I was just sitting in that lovely car, thinking it would get a nice home..

but someone decided that was a good first car for their 17 year old son???

Really, I think that's child abuse. Probably better than sliding off a canyon road somewhere high up in the mountains showing off the quattro skillz...
